Our "Drama Queen"

A got the lead in her school play. She's so excited!! She has wanted to be the lead for the last two years...didn't get it two years ago because they needed two girls who were the same size and looked similar to fill two roles (elves), last year she was one of the leading characters but it was a double cast. This year she wanted to lead all to herself....she worked really hard to prepare for the auditions and did a great job. It's good to see her learning that hard work and dedication really does pay off. Now if I could get her to see that when it comes to her school work! LOL

B's soccer injury is healing pretty well, although it may not have been a good idea for her to go to soccer practice yesterday as she is hobbling at bit more today than she was yesterday.

The youth activity last night went really well. A and her class presidency put a lot of thought and effort into planning it and it was great. The kids were divided into teams and decorated pumpkins to look like storybook characters, with a tiny pumpkin decorated to be an item associated with that character (Snow White and an apple, a witch with a black cat, Harry Potter with a Golden Snitch, and Jack Sparrow with a treasure chest). The kids were really creative and mostly worked together really well. It was fun! We're going to take the pumpkins to the children's hospital to help brighten things up for Halloween.

This month has definitely been a bad one for me. It has had some high points, but it has been a horrible, miserable, awful month. I can't wait for it to be over.
