Last week I chaperoned B's field trip for her gifted class. What a day! We had to be at the meeting place at 5:40 a.m...pulled out at 6 a.m. and headed north. Three and a half hours later we arrived at our destination. I was hoping to sleep a bit on the bus but all of the kids were too excited to sleep, so no such luck! We enjoyed the field trip and at 2 p.m. it was time to head home. Unfortunately, our bus broke down on the way home so we were a bit delayed. They ended up loading all of the people from our bus onto one of the other two buses and we sat 3 to a seat on a bus with no air conditioning for the rest of the ride home. We got back to town at 6:40 p.m....LONG ride home! But I enjoyed spending the day with B.
This weekend was also the annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat at church. As always, it was fun. There was a really good turnout. The costume contest wasn't as well-organized as last year...the girls were disappointed that they didn't win. Personally, I thought they looked pretty darn fabulous!
Sunday was the Primary Program...it was so strange to be sitting in the congregation watching the program, not up on the stand with the kids presenting the program. It was a nice program, and B did a fabulous job with her part.
A starts pageant rehearsals tonight. The pageant is this weekend. She has been practicing her piano piece almost non-stop. Preparations are almost complete...just need to find some shoes to go with her interview outfit and decide on a picture for the Miss Photogenic competition. And pick up her gowns, which are being altered. She's excited about the pageant and I hope it goes well for her.
DH starts basketball tryouts tonight. No rest for the weary, as his softball season just ended on Friday. A's spring softball season and B's spring soccer season will be starting up around the time basketball season ends...
